Today I purchased the ebook edition of The Complete Mushroom Hunter, Revised: Illustrated Guide to Foraging, Harvesting, and Enjoying Wild Mushrooms – Including new sections on growing your own incredible edibles and off-season collecting. It was written by well-known mycologist and bestselling author Gary Lincoff. After finding a huge bolete mushroom on one of my walks with the Corgi Kids on the first day of September, I couldn’t resist doing a little research on the topic. I was more interested in learning how to dry the mushroom out to use in a floral arrangement than I was in learning how to prepare it for eating. At the same time, knowing I had quite a collection of mushroom photos, I was drawn to Lincoff’s story and findings. Sadly, Lincoff passed away shortly after writing this book, but fortunately, his legacy lives on. By the time I had finished my research, I decided I might want to write a book on what I had learned to share with Eagle Crest visitors and residents.
