<![CDATA[October 4, 2018 ~ Currently in cancer caregiver mode, this morning I requested membership in two Facebook groups focused on supporting caregivers and those diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia:
- Acute Myeloid Leukemia Support Group – At the time I requested membership, there were 1429 members. The group is managed by Yvonne Primrose, Vicki Simmons, Allen Sagoonick (Alaska), and Jim Arnold. There had already been 9 new posts for today, with 384 posts made in the last 30 days. To join the group, one question had to be answered (caregiver or patient). I was accepted into this group around 9:30 a.m. and immediately blown away by the wealth of information and guidance available.
- AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) Group – This group, established on April 14, 2009, had 5,063 members when I requested admission.
Activity for today already registered 6 new posts and there had been 204 posts in the last 30 days. The group is managed by Krystle Brown and Samantha Rose. To join the group, two questions had to be answered (caregiver or patient and commitment to read the group rules). I was approved for this group around 11:30 a.m. There are now 5,108 members.
