In 1992 I published my first online glossary to help my colleagues and clients become familiar with the vernacular they would be encountering in their online communications. Two years later Tim Berners-Lee would recommend that the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) included glossaries as part of its technical standards to consider when publishing on the web. When I published my company’s first website in 1994 I made sure it included a glossary page which I maintained for over 20 years. Fast-forward to 2023 and I am giving serious thought to including glossaries on all my web publications. Meanwhile, I encourage all content producers to refer to the W3C page on glossaries.
